Best I found for both VNC and RDP
I used Real VNC for VNC and Microsoft RDP client for RDP. After upgrade to Windows 8.1 the Microsoft RDP client refused to connect on some sertificate misunderstanding. This one was the only app I found that worked. It also was the only one that provided perfect access to a Windows machine over LAN.
Remote VNC access to a modestly well connected MAC normally is problematic, but is OK in black and white mode of this app. I know that Windows VNC comes in different flavors and not all apps are compatible, I did not do special tests, so I just can tell that this app worked well with everything I connected to.
Since a trial is available, I will not discuss functions. IMHO this must be trialed and the trial is exactly the real thing.
Personally, I initially planned to trial until the new promised Microsoft RDP client is released, but was so impressed that purchased the app. Microsoft RDP will not do VNC anyway.
