Best Remote Desktop for Mac

Very fast, stable, and smooth to work on the Windows server. I wish I have bought this app earlier. Highly recommended! Very happy with this purchase!

Works but…

The sync sometimes does not work and at produces servers with odd names which do not correctly map to those on the network. Local connections are almost always slow and lag. Inital connections can take a really long time to initiate. I wish I had purchased somethign else…

Has some bugs

We use this program to view our point of sale system that exists on a remote server. For the most part it works to view our program, some things do not work as I would expect. For example, when connecting to the server a window appears that says “PostScript file conversion failed”. It’s a Jump Desk printer window. I am not an IT guru and do not know what this is referring to. I have tried to print and save some inventory reports and only partial reports are created. With program updates the app has become more stable and I can print some reports, but printing and saving does not work %100 of the time.

Great gone good

Since the most recent update printing is no longer easy. I suddenly have an array of printing options that were never present before and options. There are no obvious ways to create a preference for such printing and I will get an array of 30 options each time. My target programs already have a print preference but this appears to be external. Part of the jump program. I do not have tis problem with other RDP though they are otherwise much slower. I do not know what happened with last update but it was a down grade. I need to have a preference list or something that prevents a 30 + list of printing options every time I try to print. It is a needless mess.

Doesn’t Work For Me

I purchased the program to run on a Mac and manage a remote Mac. Using manual setup, I entered the IP address of the remote Mac, which is properly configured for remote access. The connection was not made. Worse, the pop-up error message says it could not access the remote PC! Does the program only manage PCs? That’s what it seems to me, but not how it is advertised.

NO SUPPORT FOR MULTI-MONITOR USERS?

I like this app but I have an issue regarding multiple displays. Well, I have 4 monitors on main computers and I cannot fully utilize my additional monitors with this app. (I’ve been also using Splashtop and it supports well) I hope you have monitor switch button so that users can maximize the advantages of multiple display. Can you fix this issue?

Worth every penny

I have used Jump Desktop on both my iPad and my Macbook Air for over 4 years now. The fact that it enables you to set up multiple versions to remote into each computer is phenomenal! I love having the options to see both of my monitors on one Jump Desktop setting and I can easily configure the same computer with different settings that will work better depending upon my needed workflow. I have used Windows Remote Viewer and other free RDP apps - this is BY FAR the best!

Buggy and lacks features for what it charges

Tags are poorly implemented. Not only does the app crash when creating new tags, there’s no simple method to add a tag to mulitple machines. You need to go into each and every machine you want assigned a tag. It’s also hit or miss with the app crashing when adding the tag to every few machines. Additionally, there should be SSH connections support. How can you charge $30 and there’s no SSH support!? If you’re managing multiple RDP sessions, it’s extremely likely that you also SSH into machines as part of your job. Finally, how is there no setting for global resolution and/or credentials? I should be able to set a default resolution vs having to change it for each and every machine I have. Also should be able to set a default login for all my RDP sessions.

Works great to control a Windows machine, way too slow to control a Mac.

This works great controlling my Windows desktops, but anytime I try to control my Mac machines, it moves painfully slow, if at all. Not sure why, but it just doesn’t work well controlling a Mac. If you are on a Mac and need to control Windows machine, it flys like you are natively on the Windows machine, though.

Forced review

I like this app a lot but I hate apps that prompt me for a review. This one in particular gave me three choices: Rate Now, Remind Me Later, Don’t Remind Me. However none of the buttons do anything except Rate Now so if you are going to force me to give you a rating, it’s gonna be bad. I already paid a lot for this app and I don’t want to be begged for reviews. If you insist on annoying your paid customers, the nag screen better not be buggy.

Beats Microsoft and works well with Apple

This program works flawlessly for me. It works better with Windows than Microsoft’s own client, and it works just as well with OS X. I’m very happy this alternative exists. Rating lowered only because the nag for a rating won’t go away.

Love this app, has always worked flawlessly for me and I have been using it for 3+ years.

Great use everyday

Jump is a great program. The one thing that stands out from the rest is the ability to easily print from my terminal server session to a local printer.

The Best RDP Client on Mac

Updating my review. Continues to be an excellent application. I use it heavily at work for accessing VirtualBox consoles, and also MS RDP servers. Microsoft has improved their program, but this continues to be the better offering and worth the money. I also use Jump on the iPad and it works well By far the best RDP client on Mac. The Microsoft has numerous glitches that make it almost unusable, while Jump Desktop behaves flawlessly time and time again. Its ability to open .rdp files works particularly well.

Never Disappoints

I travel for a living. As a result, I am often dependent upon some very marginal hotel internet connections and speeds. Regardless of the connection challenges, this app provides amazingly stable and almost instantanous access to my desktop computer back at my office. I use a MacBook Air on the road to connect to a Dell desktop computer at my office. Despite the differences in my computers, and the connection issues I noted above, this app has never failed me in months of constant use. Stable across platforms and amazingly quick across some terrible internet connections. I cannot recommend this app strongly enough. Well worth the price. i should note, installation was almost idiot proof. I should know - I am one when it comes to technology.

Out of the box RDC Magic - better than MS Client

I just bought the software and set up my first RDC session from a Mac Yosemite Client. Brilliantly simple. Although I have not put it to the test completely (like copying large amounts of data between the remote and local via clipboard or checking the reconnect capability if I lose Internet connection). Simple clipboard copy worked great. The client is super fast and the display is beautiful (normally I have to go full screen in the RDC client that ships with Office for Mac and it does a horrible job on converting the display differences btween the RDC Monitor Emulation and my local monitor resolution. MS RDC client on my Mac has been really buggy too. A lot of retries to get connected at times. So far, so good. I am very pleased.

Excellent VNC viewer; missing copy/paste

The only thing missing is the ability to paste text from the local clipboard to the VNC session. The vendor has been promising this for years, but still no dice. Other than that, it’s an excellent VNC viewer - much better than Jollys, Chicken, etc.

My only criticism

I remote into a computer running OS X 10.10 Server and when there’s errors that I need to turn into our IT department you cannot copy and paste from the remote machine to the local machine. Which means I have to do weird things like copy the errors into a document and save them to DropBox, wait for that to sync and then copy and paste from that. It really should not be that complicated. Secondly, it needs better support for bandwidth-tapped networks. Other than that a solid app and I’m proud to support the developer.

Jump away from it

I was never able to use it. I do consider myself savvy in computer but certainly not a computer genius. This app was complicated to set up. An app should make lives easier - this just wasn’t as “plug and play” as I expected.

Works great in my office

It doubles as a VNC client and RDP. I can see all the Macs in my office, and I can add my Windows RDS servers. I can soft key Contol Alt Delete which Microsoft RDC and Cord will NOT allow you to do.
